Paying Rent
Rent is due in the SHC office on the 1st of the month, payable by personal check, cashier's check, money order, or credit/debit cards. SHC does not accept cash payments.
A late fee is applied to 5% of any balance exeeding $100 on the 6th of the month, which means you have six days to pay your rent without penalty.
On the 12th of the month, if you have a balance exceeding $100, you will recieve a 7-day Notice to Quit for nonpayment of rent, which starts the legal process, and a fee is applied to you account.
When the office is closed, you may leave your payments in the drop box on the office door. Any payments recieved in the dropbox the morning of the 6th will not be considered late.
You also have the option of paying your rent online.
NOTE: To pay online you need to confirm your birthdate and receive an account number from the Co-op Office to proceed. The corporate ID is 'msu.' Enter it, then refresh and click on "create new account."
